Dr Swapna PK has 16 years of experience as a physician. Areas of her clinical interest include treatment of infectious diseases, GI disorders, Thyroid disorders, lifestyle diseases like diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and other medical ailments in adults.

After her MBBS from KS Hegde Medical Academy in 2006, she joined the Academy of Medical Sciences Pariyaram in 2008 as a junior resident for post-graduation (DNB) in Internal Medicine. She received her DNB degree from the National Board of examinations, New Delhi in 2011. Soon after, she joined Father Muller Medical College (FMMC) as Senior Resident and was promoted to the post of Assistant Professor in 2014.

During her tenure at FMMC, she served as the NABH Coordinator for the Department of Medicine. She was a member of the core committee of the Father Mueller Simulation Centre, which was involved in imparting essential clinical skills and courses on Basic and advanced cardiac life support to medical and nursing students and professionals.

As an AHA accredited instructor, she has conducted many BLS workshops. She has the ability to handle medical emergencies and perform clinical procedures.

Prior to joining Shifa Al Jazeera, she worked as a Consultant in Internal Medicine at a private medical centre and its branches between 2019 and 2021.

She has authored several articles in international and national journals. She also attended many workshops and conferences. She has been active in raising health awareness among the public on chronic illnesses through personal sessions and social media campaigns.
