Specialist Care for Your Child's Health and Growth
Every parent wants the very best for their child – and so do we. Our paediatric specialists at Shifa Al Jazeera Hospital are dedicated to supporting the health, growth, and development of children from newborn to adolescent. Paediatrics is the medical specialty focused on the physical, emotional, and developmental health of infants, children, and teenagers. Children’s bodies grow and change rapidly – and the way conditions present, develop, and are treated in children is often very different from adults. That is why specialist paediatric care matters. We know that a sick child is stressful for the whole family – our team creates a calm, child-friendly environment where little ones feel safe and parents feel heard. With multilingual doctors who understand diverse family backgrounds and cultural values, your child’s care will always feel personal, respectful, and family-centred.

What to Expect During Your Visit
Children pick up on their parents’ feelings – so we work hard to put the whole family at ease from the moment you arrive. Our paediatric team will greet your child warmly and take time to build a gentle rapport before any examination begins. Parents and carers are always present throughout the consultation – your observations about your child’s health and behaviour are an essential part of our assessment.
Our doctor will ask about your child’s symptoms, medical history, feeding, growth, and development. For younger children and infants, much of this information comes from you as the parent – so please share as much detail as you can, even if you are unsure whether it is relevant. A physical examination will then be carried out carefully and gently, always with your child’s comfort in mind.
Following the assessment, our paediatrician will explain their findings to you clearly and agree a care plan together. This may include medicines, dietary advice, a referral to a specialist within the hospital, or a schedule of follow-up appointments to monitor your child’s progress. We believe that informed, supported parents are the most powerful advocates for their child’s health – and we are here to make sure you always leave with a clear understanding of the next steps.
