Dr. Ashraf Wazeer Refaie is a Senior Consultant Anaesthetist with over 26 years of experience. He specialises in managing severe and long-term pain, with a special focus on helping patients with Sickle Cell Disease.

What to Expect During Your Visit
Before your procedure, an anaesthesiologist will meet with you. They will review your medical history, current medicines, and any allergies. They will explain which type of anaesthesia is right for you and answer your questions clearly.
On the day of your procedure, your anaesthesiologist will be with you in the operating theatre (the room where surgery takes place). They will give you your anaesthesia safely and monitor your breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure throughout.
After your procedure, you will be moved to a recovery area where our team continues to monitor you. Your anaesthesiologist will make sure your pain is well managed before you return to your room or go home. A family member is welcome to be with you during recovery.
