Dr. Ashraf Wazeer Refaie is a Senior Consultant Anaesthetist and Pain Management Specialist. He joined Shifa Al Jazeera Hospital in 2025. With over 26 years of experience, he is dedicated to helping patients find relief from difficult and chronic pain conditions.
Before joining Shifa, Dr. Ashraf worked at Salmaniya Medical Complex for many years. During his time there, he helped set up the first organized Acute and Chronic Pain Management service for the Ministry of Health. He completed specialized fellowship training in pain management in Saudi Arabia and advanced training in nerve therapy in Switzerland.
Dr. Ashraf has a strong focus on pain care for patients with Sickle Cell Disease. He uses modern techniques, such as nerve stimulation and ultrasound-guided procedures, to improve the quality of life for his patients. He also shares his knowledge as a speaker at international medical meetings.
